Book A Lesson: Sunday-Thursday
My Approach:
String instruments are hard but they don't have to be. Ukulele is a great option for the younger student. There's no reason to learn full guitar chords right away when single finger versions will do the trick.
Most importantly, my students learns songs they like, on the instrument they choose, while I pepper in the technique, thought process, and understanding that will help them to open up the world of music as they progress.
I’ve learned so much.
“I started guitar and singing lessons when I was 10, and I’ve learned so much since then! I get to sing and play the guitar at the same time and he always helps me work out new skills, techniques and arrangements that suit my abilities and style. And now, I can even figure out how to play/sing songs on my own.”
— Cana L. (14) Kanata
He tailors our lessons well.
“He is very musically talented and teaches our family of four (parents + 2 children) different instruments, as well as singing and composing. He is very patient with young children, and also empathetic to adult students' struggles. He tailors our lessons well to meet our personal goals. I truly enjoy learning music from him.”
– Queenie K. (44) Kanata
I am delighted with the progress.
“As a recently retired senior, I thought it might be fun to learn a musical instrument . I bought my first guitar fully expecting to have it thrown on the Kijiji heap within a year. So I am very glad to have found a kind, patient, good humoured instructor who is knowledgeable and comfortable teaching a wide range of ages and levels. He quickly identifies trouble spots in my playing and diplomatically suggests helpful changes. I am delighted with the progress that I have made in strumming and picking my way through many of my old favourites. “
— Linda M. (66) Westboro
It has been great!
“I’ve been taking guitar lessons for 2 years and it has been great! I really like that he lets me pick the songs that he teaches me. I can tell that he really wants me to enjoy playing the guitar and to make steady progress and improve.”
— Jesse L. (12) Kanata
They truly enjoy their lessons.
“He is a very skilled musician and he has been a very encouraging and motivating teacher for our children over the last 4 years. Our children have progressed so much in their abilities, and they truly enjoy their lessons. He has a great teaching style that puts our children at ease while they are continually learning and developing new skills and a real ‘music sense’.”
— Erin & Louis L. Kanata
