My Approach:

Drums are about groove, timing, and feel. More importantly, drums are about being a kid and hitting stuff. My students learn rhythm, note reading, patience, and how to take a deep breath and try again. But If you ask them, they learn how to play along to real songs, and feel cool while doing it.

I like that he teaches at my pace

“I like learning the drums from him because he lets me play music based on my musical interests. I like that he teaches at my pace and doesn't rush me.

He teaches me lots of different techniques that I can add to songs I play in the future. He lets me mess around with the music I am learning and allows me to change it if I feel it's necessary. I feel like like my lessons are more of a collaboration then an actual lesson because I am creating the musical content.”

His lessons are enjoyable and motivating.

“I like his informal teaching approach. He would explore various strategies to help me work through drumming techniques, sometimes drawing from his own experience. He takes the time to discuss my questions and interpretations. His lessons are enjoyable and motivating."
